The photographer says:

“Basically [the title] means to use your imagination to make up your own story or meaning for this photo. Like one story goes that I have an imaginary friend sitting in the empty chair, but the chair has all the light on it but no one sitting in it, and I’m sitting on the darkside where you can barely even see me, kind of ironic.”
