My Bloodline

I think about my roots and I see that my bloodline
survived the test of time,
I think about the truths and the bloodshed my family
can’t decline.
I think about Moses and how he led my people
out of slavery,
What’s sad is that my family is still inslaved
by poverty.
I think about the Babylonian Exile and how my family
made it back,
It’s funny because all the while God kept the Jewish
people intact.
I think about the Holocaust and my relatives who
didn’t make it out,
But my bloodline still remains without
a doubt.
Even after 1900 years without a home,
God gave Israel a place to call their own.
He returned us back to the beautiful Promised Land,
and kept His word because he said we would be
more than sand.
Oh and after all that my bloodline has been through,
He has opened this familys eyes to the real Truth.
My bloodline has survived over 4000 years of hate
and oppression,
But still I remain because of His decision.
You see, I have existed from the start,
God planned for me to be here to touch your heart.
Through my struggles I will learn and teach,
That the Most High God is never out of reach.
