On the Adequacy of Improper Footwear by CHRISTINA BRYZA
I do not write of snow for you
But rather for my Nike shoes:
They're soft and gray with stripes of red
And through thick snow not fit to tread.
I did not foresee the flakes tonight
And so my sneakers were too light
To bear the wet of snowy mounds;
I'm sure they ached for fairer grounds
But also confident am I
That as with most damp things
They'll dry
