ISSUE #7 - JANUARY 2009
poetry

To True Beauty

Your beautiful smile like a sunrise against the seas
brightens the world, and like a brilliant breeze
your songs fill the air with wondrous melodies.

Your hair flows as if it were a glistening waterfall
and your piercing gaze would make even the most focused stall
with elaborate features, and imperfections so small.

Your laughter, a delightful symphony of joy
better medicine for sadness, than any doctor can employ
and releasing your smile, without a hint of being coy.

Your voice leaves the ear wanting more
a sweet tone, developed from the core
the listener kept captivated, never to bore.

But not even nature can describe your ways
and the passer-by moves on after losing his daze
and your sounds, although pleasant, will eventually fade.

I am left here, standing in awe, amazed
others move on, hardly fazed
but I am still here, captured, caged.
