ISSUE #14 - AUGUST 2009
poetry

empty

(sxc.hu)

Empty Room

An empty room... and what could've been
Once filled with life and promise a vision of hope and future
Melts to what is.

Eyes open see clearly through a haze of uncertainty and doubt
Eyes closed revert to teenage fantasy and a make believe life

Musical visions encapsulated by notes and sounds of safety and peacefulness
Swirling songs bring memories to revive emotion in rebirth

Warmth reverberates creating temporary euphoria
And the steady beat keeps meaning in time
As feet speed faster than to catch it

A grip tightens a heart found full,
Hands joined forward
Rolling hills guide beyond the horizon
Nodding towards the untamed path, towards the unknown
